The study of free radicals and their role in the development and progression of diseases has gained importance in recent decades, providing invaluable insights into the fundamental mechanisms of pathology. This new book, The Role of Free Radicals in Pathology, describes the role of free radicals and their deleterious impact on human health. This comprehensive book helps to bridge the gap between scientific research and its applicability, offering a deep understanding of the molecular and cellular processes involved in disease progression.

The chapters provide an examination of different diseases that are seen to be caused by deleterious free radicals. The book also unravels the origin of free radicals and their intricate relationship with vital biomolecules. Through a meticulous examination of the diverse diseases affected by free radicals, the book uncovers their pivotal role in the pathology of conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, dyslipidemia, stroke, epilepsy, and others. The chapters also establish the delicate balance of the body’s antioxidant defense system, which plays a crucial role in mitigating the harmful effects of free radicals on human health. The book also explores the emerging field of redox biology, which investigates the potential beneficial roles of free radicals in cellular signaling and physiological processes.

This book will serve as a valuable resource for researchers, clinicians, and students in the fields of pathology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and beyond. By illuminating the complex interplay between free radicals and diseases, this book will inspire further investigation, prompt novel therapeutic approaches, and ultimately contribute to the advancement of human health.
