This new volume, Cubosomes in Oncology: Targeted Drug Delivery, Theranostics, and Clinical Applications, explores the rapidly evolving role of cubosomes as versatile nanocarriers for advanced cancer diagnosis and therapy. Distinguished by their unique bicontinuous cubic architecture, interconnected aqueous channels, and lipid bilayers, cubosomes offer high drug-loading capacity and can efficiently encapsulate both hydrophilic and hydrophobic therapeutic agents.

Bringing together advances in basic science, formulation science, and clinical oncology, this comprehensive volume examines the fundamental principles of cubosome design, formulation and evaluation strategies, characterization, mechanisms of action, and applications in modern drug development. Chapters explore cubosomes as smart and efficient vehicles for therapeutic agents and highlight herbal and plant-derived cubosomal systems for cancer therapy. The volume also considers recent preclinical and clinical investigations and the emerging field of theranostics, integrating diagnosis and therapy within a single nanoplatform.

Moving from mechanistic design to translational research, the book addresses targeted cancer therapy, multimodal imaging, safety, regulatory considerations, patents, and the challenges involved in bringing cubosome-based technologies from the laboratory into clinical practice. With its particular focus on oncology, it provides researchers with a consolidated view of the opportunities and future potential of cubosomal nanomedicine.
