In an effort to make sustainable agriculture a reality, researchers and scientists are trying novel ways to improve soil quality. Efforts are being made to use various types of botanicals or plant-based formulations in agriculture to upgrade overall crop productivity. This new volume, Botanical Extracts and Their Phytochemicals: Potentiality in the Development of Sustainable Agriculture, highlights the various scientific approaches that include agricultural, pharmacological, and pharmaceutical aspects of botanical extracts and their phytochemical properties and their use in the field of plant biology.

Topics covered include the importance of natural products in sustainable agriculture, intelligent approaches for smart organic plant animal farming, beneficial aspects of various botanical extracts, and more. Chapters also cover novel approaches such as nanoencapsulation methods of bioactive compounds and the use of extracts in bioremediation of pesticides, herbicides, and other toxic chemicals. The book concludes by discussing the implications of novel strategies of formulations for improvement of bioactivity of extracts and phytochemicals for sustainable agriculture and future prospects.

This book provides a better understanding of the use of botanicals or their extracts, active ingredients, the extraction process, analytical methods, and the rules and regulations of formulations of botanicals or their extracts or plant-based products for application in agriculture as fungicides, pesticides, insecticides, bio-stimulants and fertilizers. In addition, the book also spotlights the usage of botanicals for better stress tolerance, post-harvest quality assurance, and escalated gross agricultural output.

Providing useful information on biology, medical sciences, biotechnology, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, and pharmaceutical sciences, this book will be of broader use to research students, professors, ethnobotanists, pharmacologists, and herbal producers.
