Healthcare systems have seen a major transformation in the past few years due to technological innovation. The intersection of emerging technologies like blockchain, IoT, deep learning, and federated learning is providing opportunities and solutions for addressing critical challenges in healthcare ranging from enhancing patient care to improving security, efficiency, and transparency.

This new volume offers a comprehensive exploration of the integration of multiple cutting-edge technologies—blockchain, IoT, AI, and deep learning—within healthcare systems, focusing on their combined impact rather than addressing each technology in isolation. The volume highlights the potential of these technologies to enhance data security, patient monitoring, and healthcare management. It also discusses the challenges and opportunities these technologies present for revolutionizing digital health, clinical trials, and medical data sharing.

Chapters explore how blockchain technology has demonstrated immense potential in dealing with fraud, speeding up the billing process, and ensuring extreme security to electronic health records (EHRs) under decentralized and tamper-proof systems. The book discusses how these technologies converge to create a smarter and more secure healthcare ecosystem.

Chapters also look at innovative approaches such as the integration of fog computing with the Internet of Medical Things and the use of adaptive momentum-based U-Net architecture for Alzheimer’s stage prediction, which illustrate the evolving landscape of technological solutions aimed at tackling some of the most pressing healthcare challenges. The role of blockchain in patient monitoring, secure information sharing, and the creation of secure networks for massive IoT development is addressed as well, as is the issue of transparency in clinical trials and the application of blockchain in pandemic scenarios.

Also discussed is the role of deep learning and federated learning techniques in smart healthcare with insights into innovations such as blockchain-based smart contract systems, privacy-preserving data management, and enhanced techniques for using deep learning in intelligent, secure, and patient-centered healthcare systems.

Blockchain and Deep Learning Assisted Modern Healthcare Systems will serve as a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners, and students interested in the emerging trends and opportunities in the intersection of blockchain and deep learning in healthcare technology.
